Mumbai. Bollywood singer Deepak Giri has been honored with the prestigious award ‘Mahatma Gandhi Ratna Award 2024’ in Mumbai.

The grand event was organized under KCF Foundation on Gandhi Jayanti 2 October 2024 at Mayor Hall, Andheri West Mumbai. Famous singer Deepak Giri received this award from the hands of chief guest Surendra Pal, Dheeraj Kumar, Sunil Pal, musician Dilip Sen, Sanand Verma (Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hain). Deepak Giri is very excited to be honored with this prestigious award.

All-rounder singer Deepak Giri thanked Dr. Krishna Chouhan, the organizer of this award show and said that it was a proud moment for me to stand on the stage among so many big personalities and receive the award associated with the name of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Deepak Giri is a famous Bollywood singer who has sung songs for many films and hundreds of his albums have been released by many music companies including T-Series. His stage shows keep happening in India and abroad in which he mesmerizes everyone with Kishore Kumar’s songs.

Vriddha Mitra, which translates to ‘Friends of Older People,’ is the flagship program of SCHOOL (Society of Community Health Oriented Operational Links), a not-for-profit organization. The program is committed to the concept of “ageing in place,” delivering essential services and supplies to 47,300 elderly individuals in their own homes across six major locations in India: Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Gwalior, Bhopal, and Varanasi. With the support of philanthropic foundations, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and individual donors, Vriddha Mitra focuses on improving the well-being, independence, and overall happiness of elderly people, especially those most vulnerable and in need.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of creating a supportive environment for senior citizens. Vriddha Mitra’s dedicated team provides companionship, assistance with daily activities, and emotional support, addressing various challenges related to physical and mental health. The program also ensures that older adults receive the social security entitlements and benefits they deserve, helping them lead dignified lives in their own homes.

In addition to the musical event, this awareness campaign will continue on 1st October 2024, coinciding with the International Day of Older Persons. The campaign will reach audiences across India through social media, print media, and a series of events. मुंबई दि.३: महाराष्ट्र चित्रपट,रंगभूमी आणि सांस्कृतिक विकास महामंडळाच्या वित्तीय सल्लागार वमुख्यलेखावित्तधिकारी पदी चित्रलेखा खातू-रावराणे यांची शासनाने नियुक्ती केली आहे. सोमवारी त्यांनी पदाचा पदभार स्वीकारला. यापूर्वी त्या उप अधिदान व लेखा अधिकारी म्हणून अधिदान व लेखा कार्यालय मुंबई येथे कार्यरत होत्या.
